#452 In this podcast episode, Guy talked with RJ Spina about moving from spiritual consumerism into true creation, presence, and self-realization. RJ explained that people had often become trapped by predictions, internet noise, and the constant search for more information, while the real work had required turning inward, observing the mind, and discovering the creator within. He also shared how his own life-threatening illness and paralysis had forced him into deep surrender, where he remembered a deeper intelligence beyond thought, emotion, and the body.
The conversation also explored RJ’s view that true change had come through letting go of false identity, subconscious programming, victimhood, and ownership of past trauma rather than adding more spiritual knowledge. By the end, RJ encouraged listeners to reclaim their attention, develop presence, take repeated aligned action, and trust that the beauty of life was found in the unfolding rather than chasing external validation or results.

Everyone who’s gonna watch this, listen to me. You do what you want, but listen to me. Stop putting your attention on this garbage, on predictions and prognostications and doom and gloom, and we’re gonna go to 5D. You are being programmed. You’re not gonna be able to work with yourself properly. I see it over and over and over again.
You’re divorcing yourself from yourself, and you’re creating a reality that only exists in terms of what you’re seeing on the internet. It’s not reality. It is not. Work with yourself.
Guy:
Mr. RJ Spina, welcome back to the podcast, sir
RJ:
Thanks for having me, Guy. It’s nice to see you
Guy:
I just realized this is the fourth time you’ve come on. Can you believe it? It’s w- It’s wild. Like, I didn’t even realize. It was like, wow, you know? It’s, it’s awesome. Yeah, it’s awesome. I, I appreciate every time you come on and what comes out, and I have no doubt what will come out of today, uh, will be organic and beautiful as well.
So I’m gonna just dive straight in, ’cause we were talking off air about this consumerism versus creation, that really resonates as the moment you say it. So why don’t we dive into that and what’s been coming forward for you at the moment, uh, about speaking around these topics?
RJ:
Yeah, the, it, it seems like the, because the five senses are outwardly focused, we’re always looking, reaching outside of ourself, basically out of a sense of fear for someone to tell us that everything is gonna be okay. And this, this state of being, this state of operating, making your, your state of being contingent upon what it is that you see or what it is that you hear, is completely disempowering.
It puts us in a, a reactionary, disempowered state. And really, the truth of the matter is, is that we are creators. We are creator beings. We are unlimited creator beings, and we’re so unlimited that we can limit ourselves in an unlimited way. So this focus on being a consumer, on acquiring information rather than creating the life that you desire seems to have ha- it’s almost reached, like, this, this peak, and it seems like there’s a, a big majority of people that are, feel that if they can just get more information, some magical information, then all of a sudden their life will be better, or they’ll be better.
And then there’s this much smaller percentage of people that have realized that the act of actually reaching out and trying to acquire and trying to become and trying to mentally understand is actually useless. I mean, if we think about it, the, the ego mind identity, right, the human character, is really what we want to transcend, and so there’s really no point in analyzing its machinations.
And so we get, we get this false sense of accomplishment, Guy, that if we mentally understand something, we think that in and of itself is an accomplishment and will make, will make our life better or make ourselves feel better, and it doesn’t work. It absolutely doesn’t work. And so if we shift back to what is, which is being a creator being and creating the life that we truly desire, this is actually how the world changes.
It’s not going to change by the dissemination of information. There’s more information available to everybody. There’s never been people more depressed, more anxious, more on drugs. There’s never been an epidemic like this, but yet information is everywhere. It’s not the, it’s not the answer. Creation is the answer, not, not consumerism
Guy:
It’s fascinating, isn’t it? Because it’s, one is the, the identity to information of what we tell, we tell ourselves who we are, what we do, and how we identify that. And then if I can achieve more knowledge, then maybe my status will grow. Like there, there are so many things culturally that are ingrained in per se, but for me, the, the biggest wisdom that has come from on my journey is embodiment and the letting go of the mind to the best of my abilities.
Like it st- it still kicks in every day, you know? But why do you feel we’ve ended up in this place where we’re sitting on this amazing divine piece of kit, which is our bodies, yet we’re so disconnected from it and looking externally all the time?
RJ:
It, it’s easier. That, that, that’s the reason. The, the default setting is outward-focused because the five senses are outwardly focused. So if you combine the fact that we’re never really looking in, that requires effort and concentration. And so the, the ego mind identity, the character that gets created through incarnation is attuned to and part of the local environment.
So the body-mind complex is part of and attuned to this low-frequency environment. So we’re going to operate in a low-frequency way. That, that is just the bottom line. And so it takes, it really takes dedication, it really takes perseverance, and it really takes a desire, an unquenchable desire, I call it gentle tenacity, where you never stop looking in and working on yourself.
And no matter how advanced you are, there’s always more that you can discover within yourself. But I, I think it’s just we’re in a low-frequency environment, and automatically, guy, we are going to operate in a low-frequency way. And I really feel that what we’re talking about, that’s really the challenge of having an incarnation in the physical universe.
It is actually that, because this is foreign to all of us. And so when we have this experience, we have a low-frequency experience, we tend to operate in a low-frequency way, and the challenge is to discover yourself and remember what it’s like to operate in a high-frequency way, to be what you really are, which is a high-frequency being in a low-frequency environment.
So it’s just… It’s like if you get in a hot tub, you get hot. If you, if you incarnate into the low frequencies of the physical universe, y- you’re gonna start operating in a low-frequency way, and your suit is part of and attuned to it. So, and that’s why these, these, these great teachings, uh, the teachings of the masters and the mystics is what everyone eventually is drawn to.
Like a, like a, a, a, a man dying of thirst needs water, because it is, it’s, it’s the only way out. It’s the only way out of operating in a low-frequency way. So I just think it’s easy because the environment is low frequency and because the senses are outwardly focused. It’s just, it, it, it just happens almost like falling asleep, falling asleep, and then all of a sudden you realize you’re asleep. It kind of works the same way here
Guy:
Hmm. Yeah. But it, I mean, you’re somebody that obviously had been on a, their own healing journey as well in the past and, and had gone through that to, you know, to be the great teacher that you’re doing today with the, the lessons and wisdom that you’ve learned as well along, along your path. Were there points in your journey where you were really going to the mind, or did it naturally come on your healing journey to relinquish that? we tend to, like, scour the internet. We search for more information. We look for validation and trying to take in, and yet the, the challenges of being able to trust in our own divine wisdom and power and bring our sensory experience beyond our five senses and attune into who we really are is, can be terrifying when we let go of the mind
RJ:
Uh, yeah, the, the, it was apparent to me, especially when I, you know, was told I had 48 hours to live and was permanently paralyzed from the chest down. It- all thoughts, a- and emotions, and ideas, and co- they just seemed futile. Just absolutely futile. And also, maybe part of that, Guy, was that I was given no chance, no hope, no blueprint, no, no nothing, right?
It’s like, “Listen, you got sepsis. It’s everywhere. You’re probably not gonna make it. Write out a will. You’re paralyzed from the chest down, and the, you know, this, this is the end,” right? Now, I knew it wasn’t. I knew it wasn’t. But I also knew that the, the way in wasn’t going to be through this conditioned mind.
It wasn’t gonna be through emotions. It wasn’t gonna be through latching on. I knew it was gonna be within this sense of deep, deep surrender within myself. So all those things just, it was apparent, Guy. It was just pointless. It was absolutely pointless. I knew I need to summon something much deeper within myself, something that comes before thinking, before emotion, something that comes before the body.
What gives birth to the body/mind? I knew that was the answer. I knew that was the answer, and so really, that was the supreme focus, the supreme focus, and that turned out to be the remedy, uh, to do the impossible.
Guy:
Yeah. No, it’s phenomenal, mate. It, it truly is. What do you feel then in this world would be the f- this, the step someone takes as they’re listening to this really start to let go of the mind, to really start to trust in the creation aspect instead of the consumerism aspect? you only have to walk down the street or queue up for a coffee. I’m guilty of it myself sometimes. I’ll, I’ll check my phone, and all of a sudden I’m in consumer, not presence, and I’m giving my power away in that moment.
RJ:
Yeah, for f- yes, and it’s endless, right? This is the so-called matrix, right? It’s, it’s, it’s everywhere and everything, right? So what I think is the best place to start is to, is to realize that the highest form of intelligence is in observation. It’s not in analysis. It’s not in judging, figuring out. It’s not in reasoning.
That is not the highest form of intelligence. The highest form of intelligence is to drop way back within yourself, and we can call this a soft gaze. So this means you don’t close your eyes, right? Your eyes are open, your senses are working, but you’re not in analysis mode. You’re not judging, labeling, and analyzing everything that you see.
As you drop back into this observation mode, you are going to begin to observe your own thoughts. Through observing your own thoughts, you’re gonna start to understand the nature of your mind. And once you’re s- seated back, so, so to speak, in what I call the driver’s seat of the miracle machine, this is when you start to gain a level of control.
So we start to switch from consumerism to, to the truth, which is that we are creators, because we’re in this observation mode and realizing that in observation, an action is taking place. The action, guy, is the activation of this divine intelligence that’s so far beyond reasoning, that’s so far beyond labeling.
This is when you start to discover yourself. This is when… This is the road to self-realization. Now I, for me, like it sounds funny, but boredom is the runway for enlightenment because we are so inundated with distractions, consumerism, constantly this, that, whatever it is, right? Just endless distractions all day long, right?
It’s when you s- just apply a soft gaze, stop analyzing, right? And then the ego mind identity is gonna be like, “Well, this will be boring,” right? Just sit with it. It’s so simple. It’s the easiest thing to do. It’s the easiest thing to do. There is going to be revelations, epiphanies, and discoveries that will catapult anyone who does this down the journey of self-realization
Guy:
Hmm. Did that happen for you in your own journey? ‘Cause it like, uh, you hear, you’ll often hear the quote, um, what creates the bo- the e- the power that creates the body can heal the body, you know, and if we get out, get out of our own way. And then to me, that’s all like a letting go and almost then a remembrance. That’s what it, of what is ever-present anyway. And that what was like key components to your journey, the observation and the allowing of the divine intelligence?
RJ:
Yeah, yeah. Uh, yes. But Guy, I had no cho- I had no choice. So it’s like I, I, I couldn’t waste my time. Y- you know what I mean? Like, f- “Hey, you got 48 hours to live. Write out a will. You’re paralyzed from the chest down. This is, this is the end, Mr. Spina.” You know? So it’s like, what is it? Necessity is the mother of invention, right?
Or something, something like that, right? So that, Guy, and we might have talked about this once, right, is that, uh, I, I, I knew things as a kid that wouldn’t make any sense. Like this, this deep, deep wisdom, this deep, deep connection, leaving my body all the time, right? So I said as a kid that if I ever get sick, I’ll just heal myself.
A- as a child, I said this, and, uh, it’s a crazy thing to say, right? But I meant it, right? Now, I didn’t know how to do it at the time, but I knew that I knew. And so here we are, rough- roughly, you know, 40-something years later, when the clock is literally, literally ticking, right? It’s like I gave myself a situation where I was forced to remember.
I had no choice. I was forced to remember because literally when I woke up from emergency surgery in the ICU, in the f- you know, the first book talks about this, Supercharged Self-Healing, I started explaining to the nurse how I’m gonna put my body back together. You know, this, these insights and this wisdom that is not obtainable through five senses or the intellect.
She’s like, “How do you, how do you know this?” And I said, “I remember. I absolutely, I remember.” So this is what I mean about the highest form of intelligence is not reasoning, it’s not analysis, it’s not labeling, right? We have to turn down the processing, the conditioned mind from activating, and allow ourself to reconnect with what is eternal, and that’s the remembering, that’s the inner knowing, and that, the I am, the soul, the consciousness, the God within you, which is really all the same thing, that doesn’t have any limitations.
It absolutely does not. That’s what can part the Red Sea, I’m here to tell you, and that’s what can put your destroyed body back together, without question. But up here, mentalizing and figuring out, you can’t do anything. It’s like moving furniture around in the same room.
Guy:
Yeah. So how do you go in your life with creation now in terms of moving forward? ‘Cause I’m in the same boat. You know, I, I, I feel very, I feel very blessed that I live a blessed life that has been created by having the courage to lean in and move forward and burn the ships. There’s been many moments in my life, not through health challenges, but my ships have been burnt, it’s like you find a way through, you know?
And, and, and through that journey, it’s made me become more humble and more reflective and more observant, as opposed to identifying with the roles that I play. You know, it’s always a grapple. But in terms of when– and I’m thinking of everyone listening to this, there are so many elements that we, we, we yearn for or want to, “create” in our life. But then to surrender into that and allow that creation to unfold through presence, heart, and soul can be very challenging, and we can fall into the materialism of wanting to manifest things, and this is how my life should look like and how it should be, and this is what I deserve, and you know? So I’m just curious.
There is a question in you somewhere with what I’m talking to. I’m curious to know how you tend to allow life in a daily basis and live from creative place, ’cause I think that would really help people, ’cause we’re normally trying to force these things and push and drive and strive. That’s the
RJ:
It, y- yeah, yeah. Well, it, we’re a result-oriented world, right? And there’s, there’s, there’s no joy of process, right? So we, we’ve lo- we’ve lost that. We’ve completely lost that. And so I always bring this back to just what, what we all call flow state, right? So there, there will come a time where that, that inner critic, the voice inside your head, I promise it’s possible.
There’s a time where it’s just silent, and I really mean that. My, my mind is, I lost my mind years ago, and I’m not looking for it. So I kind of live, I literally live in this perpetual flow state. There is such an effortless quality to this. Now, uh, the, the effort and the straining and, and what’s difficult in life, Guy, is trying to be something and someone that you’re not, and that’s why it’s difficult, right?
It’s not authentic. It’s not alignment, right? Like, a dog doesn’t have to try to be a dog. It’s a dog, right? We don’t have to try to be ourself. We are ourself. Flow state, effortless. All our effort and straining is in trying to be a character, trying to be something and someone that we’re not. Now, s- somewhere along the line, probably with the destruction of my body, that disappeared.
It was annihilated. It w- it was literally gone, right? And to speak to this, because I, I just feel this is important. I want people to hear this if they’ve never heard me say it before. I was in, I was in the, the ICU, and I think it was the second day or the third day, right? I had major, uh, surgery and so on and so forth.
I was paralyzed from the chest down. But I remember just sitting there, right? And all this information that had been given to me about the sepsis and about my spine and about this and the different antibiotics and the treatment and, and so on and so on, right? So th- th- I’m, like, looking at, sitting back within myself in that observer mode, right?
So I’m looking at this thing, this, this so-called knowledge, which is all I’ve heard kind of y- y- yammered at me for days since I got in there, right? So all this knowledge, right? And then I’m kind of looking at the op- the opposite of this, which would be, we’ll just call it total ignorance. Nothing, right?
Ignorance. So we have this so-called knowledge and this no understanding of anything, right? But Guy, in this moment, I realized tangibly that this so-called knowledge was just labeled ignorance. It was ignorance dressed up, and that there was no difference, none, between so-called knowledge and ignorance. And this, like, this flash, like this burn went through me, and both of these things, the so-called knowledge and the ignorance, they just dropped down and they left me for good.
And the only thing that remained was self and self-knowledge, self-realization. This was the moment of cosmic consciousness. This was the absolute moment of it. And it was so tangible and so obvious that so-called knowledge is ignorance with just labels, that this is it. This is it. This is the, this is the only thing that is, that is real.
This is the only thing that endures. And we can’t understand anything until we understand the self. And so, uh, you know, like, what is my life like creating? It is simply the expression of this self. That’s all it is. I am just always giving birth to it, whether it’s through speech or through writing, retreat or television sh- whatever.
It’s just this expressing itself in all its forms, and there’s a true effortless quality to it. There’s also the ability, because I’m not tethered to anything, to summon all of my energy and all of my will to do what it is that I desire, because I’m not tethered through attachments or identifications or expectations or ruminations.
So that going back within yourself, right? Allowing yourself to discover who you are, you can’t do that through analysis. You will start to feel an effortless quality, right? And then allow yourself to flow. Don’t label it. Don’t let other people judge you. Don’t seek validation. Don’t seek affirmations in any way. Just let yourself unfold. The beauty of life is in the unfolding, not the result. It’s in the unfolding itself
Guy:
Boy, that’s resonates so much. It’s interesting, I had the, the vision, I always think of us like a leaky bucket, and all our energy is going out to the attachments and the expectations and, and it’s just the people and the judgments and everything, and it’s just keeping us disempowered keeping us in that, that state that you speak of. Why do you f- feel that we are so caught up to judgments and expectations and control? Do you think we’re just like, uh, our body is addicted to the chemical response of what those thoughts are giving us those moments? Like, how, how do you unpack that and, and see it?
RJ:
It was, it’s, y- yes, it’s two things, right? We are, we are so programmed at a, to a level that we don’t understand until we’re guided into the subconscious mind. So the level of programming is, cannot be seen with the conscious mind. So we have all these directives that are so far within that’s behind the thought process.
The subconscious is what’s imbuing the thought process, and this subconscious programming, this is where we get all the judgments. This is where we get everything that you just said. It is literally drilled in. It is in there. It is absolutely in there, and one of the more remarkable things that I find with people, especially people who come from a very religious or super spiritual background, that they have, they have truly…
And there’s always exceptions. They have truly deluded themself in that because they have sought out so much spiritual or esoteric information, that they have cleared out their programming. And the funny thing is, those two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other. And then once they start to be guided through the investigation of the subconscious, they can’t believe how much is actually in there because it’s not investigated.
The second book I wrote, Change Your Mind, has a, it’s, I call it the 14-day notebook exercise, which is really this self-guided process to actually deprogram your entire mind. So the people that are acquiring information, that is additive. So what you were just talking about, about the letting go. So everything is a, is a letting go.
Everything is a reduction to what is. It’s not additive. Self-realization is not additive. Healing is not additive. Manifestation is not additive. It is the letting go of everything that you are not, and what, what remains is pure ultimate creator with absolutely no limitations. And this is not something that you acquire through information.
So the, the letting go takes more courage and more work than people realize. And like I said, especially the people that come to me that have been watching YouTube videos for two years and three years, and they start talking about all this stuff. I’m like, they… Guy, they have the biggest problem working with themself in a functional way They have the biggest problem when I give them a set of directi- directions, ’cause everything I do is, is prescriptive.
You do this, you do this, you do this, and you, and, and there is a result at the end of that, right? They have the hardest time, ’cause they’re so programmed, they have the hardest time being functional in terms of following directions. The people that have added more and more and more and more and more. So it works the opposite.
It works the absolute opposite, and it takes great courage and effort to work on yourself in this way, and most people don’t wanna do that. They just don’t wanna do it. They want to add something. They want some fantastical piece of information that will just change their life, right? When you and I both know the only thing that changes your life is doing the right thing every day over and over and over again. That has a compounding effect. That’s actually what changes your life, not one piece of magical information. That really doesn’t do anything
Guy:
Amen to that, man. I even said I recorded a solo podcast the other day. It’s like, even if you gotta stop listening to my podcast, like do it, get out there and st- oh, my chair’s falling down. Uh, be inspired to take inspired action in going inward and becoming more present. You know? That, that is half the reason why I put these out there. So at least when you’re consuming something, inspire you to actually the, the courage required to move the needle. Because without where the rubber meets the road, it’s all just mental masturbation. It’s just you know, and it’s a slippery slope. I’ve been down there myself in the past, expecting some, you know, mythical unicorn of an answer to come it’s, um, it’s already there. It’s already there.
I’m standing here right now in Lake Taupo in a beautiful retreat space, and there’s a vast difference between an intellectual experience and passive listening to a fully embodied lived experience, ’cause that’s what retreats can do. They can help you land, start to truly reconnect to yourself, to others, to nature, and to spirit as well.
There’s so much in it. That’s why we created Live in Flow, and that’s why we are so passionate about getting this work out there and bringing people together. If you wanna find out more when our next retreat or event is coming up, just check out the link below. And now, back to the podcast
RJ:
Yeah, so Guy, I like to kind of, cause people always ask me, “RJ, can you, can you summarize like this big thing that I talked about?” Or whatever. So I always say it kind of comes down to three things. If we’re looking for change and trans- transformation, right? You have to have a different sense of yourself.
So, ’cause right now the crystallized version of yourself that is not healthy or is not wealthy or it does not have love, that same version of yourself is never Going to be healthy, is never going to be wealthy, and is never going to have the love that they desire because that is a crystallized version.
That’s it. If that, if that version was ever going to have it, it would already have it. Okay. Now, the issue with this crystallized version of ourself, all the conclusions that we’ve come to about ourself and the world, and that’s really what– ‘Cause matter is patterned energy. That’s all it is, right? And so when we come to these conclusions about things, right?
So this is this crystallized version of yourself that we keep moving through the infinite sea of possible possibilities, and we wonder why the life doesn’t change. It’s because you’re bringing the same version of yourself to everything that you do. That’s why, that’s why nothing changes, right? Now, that version of yourself only gives itself permission to take actions in accordance with its identifications.
So just as a broad example, just take religion, right? So if someone is a Christian or a Jew or a Mu- it doesn’t matter. But whichever one that is, right? Someone’s a Jew. Let’s just pick one, right? Certain things, certain actions they’ll allow themself to take because that’s okay within that religion, or Christian or M- right?
And they– certain things they won’t do. “Oh, I can’t do that. I’m Christian. I can’t do that. I’m Muslim. I can’t do that. I’m Jewish.” Whatever, right? Okay. If we start to look at this, that has to do with the false sense of self. You can only take certain actions because of the sense of self. If you start to change the sense of self, and I don’t mean mentally, if you start to discover something within you that is beyond mental understanding, if you start to change the sense of self, that will allow you to take different actions because the sense of self is different, right?
We’re not locked in by the identifications that we had before. So different sense of self allows you to take different actions. That is what will get you different results. It’s those three things, and that’s it. That’s it. Different sense of self, different actions give you different results, and it is that simple.
It’s simple. Now, I didn’t say it was easy or hard or this or that. That just depends on how identified and how attached you are to your story, right? But that’s the key. If we want true change in our life, it’s gonna start with the different sense of self. That’s where it starts, ’cause that will allow you to take different actions than you’ve taken before. The different actions will get you different results.
Guy:
Yeah. Love it. I mean, I was in the health and fitness industry for a long time, and I’d always say quitting sugar is simple. It is. You just stop putting it in your mouth. But ahead and try it.
RJ:
Right, right, Right,
Guy:
It’s two very, very different things.
RJ:
Yes
Guy:
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that’s, that’s sure. And we, we just c- we just complicate everything and, and keep getting into the minutiae. No, I, I appreciate it. Thanks for covering that. I, um, when I reached out to you, what caught my eye was that you had a book out called You Are The Sun, and I s- popped up on my feed of, you know, whenever it was, a couple of months ago or whatever, and I thought, “What does he mean by that?” What do you mean by that?
RJ:
Yeah, what, what the hell does that mean, right? So okay. So it’s something that I still say to this day, um, and this is really in relation to, to trauma, right? When everyone, just to different degrees, right? If you have an incarnation in the lower frequencies of the physical universe where, where you and I are, you’re gonna be traumatized.
Some things are h- from a human perspective are absolutely horrendous, right? We can’t even… We don’t wanna. But the, the, the point about you are the sun, what does that mean? The truth of the matter is, is that no one is traumatized. Now, I just got through saying that we get traumatized when we come here, and now I’m saying that we don’t really…
Okay. The book explains it wonderfully, in my opinion. The book explains it wonderfully, and it’s a conversation, by the way. The book is literally the skeptic and the victim talking to me. The whole… So it’s, yeah. So I wanted to do something different, right? This is my fifth book in five and a half years, right?
So it’s like I want to approach this differently. So anyway, I made the whole book conversational, as if you’re sitting asking RJ, “Hey, what about this?” And so what we point out is, and I use the analogy, right? So when it’s raining, sleet, snow, tornado, earthquake, hurricane, typhoon, tsunami, right? Does any of that touch the sun?
No. Right? The s- the sun is untainted, unharmed, unsullied. No matter what goes on, no matter what the weather is like, it is literally unharmed. We have a difficult incarnation, incredibly difficult incarnation, right? What you are, the I am, the consciousness, the soul, the, the God within, untouched, unharmed, because one cannot be the awareness and the victim at the same time.
And the truth of the matter is, all this victimhood and all this, “My story and my trauma,” and I’m not saying these things didn’t happen. I’m not saying that at all. I didn’t have the best childhood, and you can take that as far as you’d like. I certainly have had massive physical challenges in my life, massive levels of pain that are almost unimaginable, right?
I don’t suffer, and I’ve never been traumatized. Never, right? That requires identification and ownership. The sun is not affected by the bad weather, and when you have a bad incarnation, what you are is not traumatized. It’s not touched. It’s what’s aware of everything. This thing in here, whatever you wanna call it, it’s a fractal of God, is what it is.
It is so high frequency. The body mind is part of and attuned to this environment. The body mind is definitely aff- I was paralyzed. The body mind is definitely affected from this environment, but what’s inside operating it isn’t touched. It’s not traumatized. It’s not harmed. And I don’t care what happens.
I don’t care what happens. And when people start to understand this, and the book lays this out, I give examples of all these different people that I’ve worked with. You can’t ac- you cannot dispute that one cannot be the awareness and the victim at the same time. It is indisputable. So in order for a memory to even be formed, something must already be present And that’s what never gets harmed.
That’s what never gets traumatized. And if we can start to let go of the identity, I’m not saying these things didn’t happen, that’s not what I’m saying. I know what it’s like. But I’m saying what you are was aware of it. It was never touched. And when we start to feel that, we start to feel that we are the son, ’cause it’s the truth, we start to feel this, we can shed all the limitations, all the victimhood, all the blaming, all the anger, all the rage, all the depression.
We can start to let this fall away, ’cause we realize the truth. What I am is perfectly okay. I am perfectly okay, even if my body is screwed up, right? I know what that’s like too, right? But what I am is totally okay, totally unharmed. We are the son. And when it happens for you, this is, this is the liberation.
And I’ve seen, worked with people, Guy, people that have suffered for 20 years, 30 years, 40 years from post-traumatic stress disorder, from all these horrific things that occurred. When they start to have this tangible, not mental understanding that’s useless, when they have this tangible embodiment, ’cause you said the right word earl-
Guy:
say, yeah, embodiment, yeah
RJ:
when that hits, all that stuff falls away, and then they actually say, “You’re right. I am the son.” And this is what I want for humanity. I want them to throw the chains off of identification and ownership, identification and ownership, and realize the truth, that we are the son
Guy:
Yeah, no, beautiful. I love the metaphor and I love how you’ve approached the book as well. Not that I’ve read it, but I just love that idea and discussion, uh, going through it like that, you know? It, it’s, yeah, it really is recognizing the own divinity within us and that we are that, the, the light, isn’t it?
Not the, the physicality that we identify ourselves with, and once we, once we start to experience that, then… I mean, that’s what happened in my life. Like, everything shifted and gave me the courage to really lean into what was coming through once you kind of start to have these embodied experiences.
RJ:
This,
Guy:
take that away from you
RJ Spina: you got that right, and this is, this is part of why I come back on your show, Guy, because that is apparent to me. Your since- We were talking about before we started recording. Your, your sincerity and your earnestness. I don’t need to go on all these different interviews. I don’t want to, and I’m not going to.
But I will spend time with people that I genuinely like, that I feel are sincere, and you’re one of the few, which is why, which is why I keep coming back. And I wanna, I wanna add one thing about why we struggle so much with overcoming trauma,
Guy:
Please,
RJ:
right? Okay, it’s identification and ownership, right? My story, my feelings, my body, my experiences. There is identification and ownership. This is the major shortcoming with traditional therapy. People go to the psychologist and the psychiatrist for 10 years, for 20 fucking years, and they never let go of the stuff because there’s still ownership. They’re still identifying. They’re still saying, “My story.
My, my, my.” Ownership doesn’t exist. Whatever you think you own owns you. If you do proper, if you do proper inner work, you realize, “Well, I’m not that. I’m just the awareness of that,” and it’s gone. So the reason why we struggle so much is because of the identification with what occurred, and then the ownership that comes with it.
My experiences, my trauma, my suffering, my abuse. Again, these things happened. These things happened, but they’re not you, and you don’t own them, and that’s why we never get over it. And traditional, and this is why psychedelics are, are becoming effective because, uh, real psychedelics shoot you past personhood.
This is why people are having success, Guy, with psychedelics is because it shoots them past the identification and the ownership. They have this tremendous deeper sense of self that they’ve ever experienced in their life, so they’re past the personhood. They’re past the character that’s identifying, and that’s why people make great strides.
And I’m not advocating psychedelics. I’m just saying this is why, this is why it’s effective, because it goes past identification and ownership, and why traditional therapy does not, and this is why people struggle for so long with the, with the terrible things that did occur is because they’re approaching it through the lens of identification and ownership
Guy:
Yeah. No, I, I couldn’t agree more. And I, I’m somebody that as a kid took mushrooms, like in Wales they, they they grew like daisies. And when I was about 15 I, I took a bunch not knowing what I was doing, and it actually freaked me out in, in many ways. it, uh, it– there was something that happened that day I, I can assure you, that then moving forward s- I think the course of my life, knowingly or unknowingly, through that identification thing that you, that you speak of as a, as a young boy, you know? So it, uh, I can relate. I can relate to what you say. What, what’s coming to me you speak as well, ’cause you, you mentioned about this is my wish for humanity, and it’s the same for me.
I can’t help, to be honest you, but be optimistic about our future in some ways. And I don’t know whether I’m looking through that through rose-colored glasses because of where I am in my own personal life. But at the same time, we’ve got all this, this amazing technology called the human body and what it’s capable of and what we can awaken within us if we connect back to being the sun and that identification, everything changes. And yet we’re in this soup. You know, you got AI you know, the, in vogue at the moment and, and attracting all the attention that’s keeping us consuming at the same time. What do you feel is going on? How do you feel we’re, we’re moving forward as a species?
RJ:
Okay, that’s a great question. And we, we could probably do a whole talk on this, uh, what some of the things I’m gonna mention. There are this… Our, our, our, our talk’s gonna take a bit of a twist right now. So from my ability to, to read energy and see, uh, there are far less embodied souls on this planet than we realize So that’s number one.
Again, like I said, we could have a whole other talk about this. So I’m talking about this because when you said that you’re optimistic, so am I. Because the actual embodied souls on this planet, a great deal of them are turning inward. They are questioning everything, and they’re turning inward. And this is really the evolution, the evolution of consciousness.
A lot of what we see, without me going on and on, like if you want to, we’ll have another talk about it. A lot of what we see is not really what we think we see, and a lot of people that we meet aren’t really people. And so consciousness works in a, in very unusual ways, very unusual ways. But all this is to say is that I am optimistic.
I’m optimistic because there are souls like you here. I’m optimistic because I’m here, once again. Because we’re providing, and not just us, obviously, right? But we’re providing living proof of h- of, of what it takes to overcome the trials and tribulations of personhood. We are living proof of it. And I give the step-by-step process for everything.
I don’t just talk about it. I lay the whole thing out. I’ve reverse engineered from cosmic consciousness to, to being frigging clueless, right? So I’m v- I’m, I’m very optimistic. I’m very optimistic. And I think the embodied souls that are here are, are experiencing exactly what they need to experience in order to move on to a different state of being and a different state of consciousness.
I’m not talking about this 5D nonsense. That’s a psyop. I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about embodiment. I’m talking about how you work with yourself. I’m talking about connection. This whole thing, the ego mind identity is AI. We already are AI. Your human character is AI. It’s all fake intelligence, all of it.
Just what I was talking about before in that moment of so-called knowledge and ignorance, and so-called knowledge is just labeled ignorance. It’s this thing. It ends and begins with this thing. I am– I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t have… I, I promise you, I wouldn’t incarnate if, one, it wasn’t important, and two, i-if I didn’t know what it required to take humanity to the next step, which is exactly why I’m here.
I’m incredibly ov- uh, optimistic, but we have to stop. Everyone who’s gonna watch this, listen to me. You do what you want, but listen to me. Stop putting your attention on this garbage, on predictions and prognostications, and doom and gloom, and we’re gonna go to 5D. You are being programmed. You’re not gonna be able to work with yourself properly.
I see it over and over and over again. The… It… You’re divorcing yourself from yourself, and you’re creating a reality that only exists in terms of what you’re seeing on the internet. It’s not reality. It is not Work with yourself. Go in, meditate, develop a practice, just like if you’re gonna go exercise, right?
Do a meditation practice. 20 minutes, just start. Just start. Take the action, like we were talking about before. Take the action. I’m looking forward to what, to what is to come. Absolutely looking forward. Now, if you spend your day watching the spiritual entertainment news networks and you hear about this prediction, this prediction, you’re probably not look- you’re probably terrified.
You’re probably anxious, right? You’re probably worried about everything. This is not the way to live. And by the way, if th- if it’s something is very popular, everybody, it’s ’cause they want you to see it. Have we thought about that? Have we thought about this? They want you to watch this. They want you to hear about predictions.
They want you to be fearful of 2030, of this and that. They want you on your heels. They don’t want you being the creator that you are. That’s the last fucking thing they want, is for you to empower yourself and start taking action. Anything but that. So they’ll entertain you with kernels of truth, and the rest will just misprogram you so you get disempowered and you become passive, and then you lack discernment.
Then you don’t know what’s real and what isn’t. So all that to be said is that I feel the same way. I’m very excited, and I’m excited about the work that I do, that I always do, and I’m excited about people like yourself. This is why you and I are talking again. I feel really good about where humanity is going. Don’t worry about what you see on the internet. That is, that is a psyop. That is to distract you. That is to disempower you. That’s to remove your discernment. Trust yourself. Trust yourself and everything will be just fine
Guy:
Yeah. No, beautifully said. Like, ’cause it’s all outside of ourselves. It, it could be anything, right? It you know, you could put it in the spiritual lane, you could put it in the business lane, you could put it in the, the economics, the financial system, the medical system. You know, it, it– the, the noise now, the level is off the charts. I mean, come on. It’s crazy. And the best thing you can do is just disconnect from it
RJ:
That, that, if you, if you want to do a service to yourself, you need to start to focus on where your attention is going, and the book, the, my book before You Are The Sun is the law of attention. Uh, attention is the new oil. Where your attention goes, your energy flows. Where your energy flows, it grows, right?
We are building these realities by constantly putting our attention on them. You want the life that you desire, that you know that you can have? Put your attention on the self. Put your attention on this, and then express it. Take action, and then express it. It’s that, it is that simple. I didn’t say it was easy.
It’s not easy, but it’s that simple. It’s not more complicated than that. Turn that stuff off. Do what makes you feel better, lighter, freer, more empowered. Stop watching television and start create, create something that means something to you. Create something that you’ll be proud of. Create something that, if that was your legacy, you’d be proud to have it to be your legacy.
Start thinking like this. Start planting seeds that will grow trees, and you have no intention of enjoying the shade yourself. Start thinking ahead about how you can leave this place better, and that’s gonna take action. That’s gonna take your own sovereignty, and that’s gonna take you owning your own mind and not being a consumer. It’s gonna take you being an un- unlimited creator that you are
Guy:
But I can’t help but think about what you’re saying though, right? And, you know, I’ll go back to the sugar analogy. You know, it, it’s that simple. But then I would ask someone, “Can you remember a moment in your life when you didn’t eat it?” And many, especially younger people, go, “No. It’s been in, it’s been in me my whole life from, you know, these, these as a kid to, to now.”
And I can’t help but feel that’s what’s actually happened when it’s like what the very things that you speak of about where we’re placing our attention, that we’ve never lived a life of bringing it inward and understanding that you know, f- from such a young age,
RJ:
I I
Guy:
the greatest challenges
RJ:
I agree, but it has to happen
Guy:
Yeah, I know, I know.
RJ:
It has to. So it’s the only way. So maybe the best thing to do, right, is to throw out the labels of easy, hard, right? Forget the la- there’s no liberation of consciousness through the labeling of consciousness, right? That’s immediately another prison. We’re immediately creating a, creating a reality as soon as we label something.
So if we throw out, “This will be easy, this will be hard,” or, “I have no frame of reference,” or, “I’m a rookie,” or, “I’m gonna…” Forget that. Just forget that, right? The, the most, to me, guy, the most important thing is to develop the ability to be present. You can call that meditation, right? To develop the ability to be present, because when you’re present, all your energy returns to you, and in the present moment, you own your own mind.
That’s the state that we can do anything. That’s the state where we can start to develop the self-control and the self-discipline to get off the sugar. That’s the state that we can develop the self-control and the self-discipline to stop watching the garbage on the internet. That’s the state. So the key is not to change w- your YouTube subscriptions.
The key is, is to change your ability to be present, to develop, and that’s why I have all those one-second meditation tricks, right? To break the spell of the ego mind identity in one second. Like, pretend you just arrived here. No past, no future.
The mind stops, right? Now you’re present Right? That’s it. That, so how hard can it be if it took one second, right? So we just said, and you’re right, I, I’ve never not been on sugar. I’ve never… Yeah, but how hard can it be if it just took one second, right? Now, when the mind gets act- activated again, do that same magic trick.
I got a ton of… Do another magic trick, whatever it takes. Just do it again. Pretend you just arrived here, no pa- Or a thought pops in, just say, “Not now.” Mind clears, right? So the, the teachings are here. I have laid out what to do and how to do it. It’s just gonna require you putting your attention on them and you summoning the self-control and the self-discipline to do it. And by the way, any civilization worth building is gonna take effort, is gonna, is gonna take discipline, right?
If we want, if we want a world filled with compassion and filled with wisdom, we have to cultivate these things within ourselves first, period. Right? And you can’t do that in your thinking mind. That’s not where it comes from. It comes from this being present, and then you express it. We can do it. It’s not as difficult or as easy as we think it is, because those are just thoughts.
It just is. And when we, when we ha- when we have the desire, Guy, you know this, you’ve done this. When you have the desire to make something happen, or if things are just shit and you’re like, “You know what? I’m gonna pull myself out of this. I am gonna pull myself out of this,” right? You do it. You make it happen.
Different sense of self, different actions, different results. Anyone and everyone can do this. Desire and repetition. You have the desire to do it, and you take the right action every day over and over and over again. It has a compounding effect, and pretty soon, I’m telling you, your life is incredible. It’s not some magic moment. This is delusional. It’s the right thing every day over and over, as you know
Guy:
Amen to that, man. Amen to that. That’s for sure. Man, I’m running out of time. I can’t believe it. Our, our time is just gets, it just evaporates. I’m, I’m really enjoying our conversation, mate. Um, but before, before I do wrap things up, what, what’s coming up for you? What you got in the pipeline? Like, you, you’ve written five books. You, you’re clearly constantly creating and evolving as you go as well
RJ:
Yeah. So the, so the latest book, uh, that comes out August 11th is You Are the Sun, which is what we talked about. Um, I did the Audible. I always narrate the books. But Guy, there’s… Uh, I have a television show, believe it or not. We’re just trashing the internet, and it’s like, “I have a television show, by the way.”
Right? So, but without me… ‘Cause maybe, maybe when the show comes out we can talk about it in detail, but the show is about manifestation. It is about manifestation of, of money. I learned the metaphysics of, of how to manifest health, right? Made up the first book, and I’ve helped I don’t know how many people across the world get over things that they…
So anyway, I actually understand that health and wealth are almost the exact same thing. It’s just tweaks downstream. So what I did was I have this course, and I took 10 students, and I taught them. It’s called The Mechanics of Money. That’s the name of the show, The Mechanics of Money. It should be The Metaphysics of Money.
But anyway, The Mechanics of Money, and it’s a nine-week course. And students, and it’s documented. This is not some bullshit. It’s documented. People made millions of dollars. People made hundreds of thousands of dollars, tens of thousands in weeks. It’s not a joke. I know how to do… I know the metaphysics of energy, and the students know because they took the course.
This is the first TV show ever, ever that captures real-time manifestation, and it’s gonna change, it’s gonna ch- L- listen, the, the universe is not on a budget, okay? We make it so by what we keep telling ourself, right? The universe is not on a budget. You’re making yourself, you’re putting yourself on a budget.
You’re making the universe on a budget, right? So this show is gonna come out, uh, in the fall, and it’s called The Mechanics of Money, and then there’s a, a healing show that’s coming on, uh, on the heels of that. So I’m very excited about it. It changes people’s lives. Um, I’m gonna be doing some, uh, a retreat, an in-person retreat.
We’re just narrowing down where we wanna do it. Probably be in the GCC, GCC, area. Yeah. So the book, You Are the Sun, The Mechanics of Money that comes out this fall, and then I’m sure there’ll be a surprise or two right after that.
Guy:
I, I look forward to s- to checking it out. It’s interesting, money, isn’t it? It’s such a, a, it evokes so many emotions around people and, and identities to it, and it’s good, it’s bad, it’s evil. You know, I’m not worthy. I don’t know. You know, it, it just brings up a whole… And it’s, everything’s a mirror. Everything is just reflecting back what’s going on within us, you
RJ:
Guy, Guy, exactly. I’ve talked about every subject there is, literally, right? I’ve, I’ve been a- RJ’s been asked every question there is. No one gets more triggered, just what you said, than when we talk about money. It’s incredible. And the one last thing I wanna say about money is that I have looked deeply into this, and what I have discovered is that money is innocent of everything you’ve ever accused it of.
It’s all what we attribute money to. Money is just energy, right? You know, you know who makes a lot of money? Drug dealers, right? People that sell tanks, right? Money doesn’t care. Money’s not ethical. Money’s not moral. Money’s not immoral. See, we have this all warped. This is why I said the universe is not on a budget.
We are making it this way, and when we start to do what the course lays out, when the students start doing this, they can’t believe what starts to happen, right? Money is not the root of all evil. I’ll tell you this, not having money is the root of all evil. It makes you do terrible things. It’s the op- it’s the opposite
Guy:
I, I remember reading a book many years ago by Stuart Wilde. Do you remember Stuart Wilde?
RJ:
the name for sure
Guy:
yeah, metaphysical teacher. He was, um, a Nightingale, I think, Productions, like, l- long time ago. But he, he wrote a little pocket book called The Trick to Money is Having Some, and it was quite comical. But it, it really set me on my path around that, ’cause it, it flipped the switch for me.
‘Cause I grew up in the valleys of Wales in a very poverished council estate, you know, where as a kid you’d throw rocks at a BMW if it came up the street because they were, like, rich assholes. You know what I mean? Like, there was this real, like, um, uh, ownership badge of honor of, of certain way of being, you know?
And it’s taken me a long time to from so many aspects around money, you know? So yeah, I’m intrigued for sure. But, uh, in the meantime, where can I send people? I’ll make sure the link’s in the show notes if they’re not familiar where your website is and everything, RJ.
RJ:
The, the website, it’s a long URL, ascendthefrequencies.com. Ascendthefrequencies.com. And the new book, like we said, is You Are The Sun, and I do the Audible as well. And I- I’ve probably created in the last f- few, I don’t know how many years, I think I have 54 different courses. So if you’re interested in, yeah, if you’re interested in just meditation, you’re interested in self-mastery, manifestation, deprogramming, health, love and relationships.
I just did this big course on love and relationships and sex, you know, from, from a, you know, an enlightened perspective about what really goes on in sex, what sex really is, what’s actually being exchanged, what’s really happening. So I don’t wanna leave any stone unturned, right, before this body just stops working.
So it’s ascend- ascendthefrequencies.com. Uh, and if you are interested in improving the quality of your life or learning more about your life, I have a whole academy of, uh, en- endless knowledge and, uh, uh, everyone is welcome. Come, just come, come one, come all
Guy:
Beautiful. RJ, it’s always a pleasure, mate. I really enjoyed chatting to you again, and, uh, it’s inspiring to watch you just go, man. It’s, it’s great. It’s awesome, and I appreciate your time today. So thanks for all that you’re doing
RJ:
It’s my pleasure, Guy. If you, if you will have me back, I’ll come back again. I, I enjoy our interactions. Thank you for having me
Guy:
Absolutely legend. Thanks, mate
RJ:
My pleasure
RJ:
RJ:
My pleasure
